This game will be remembered for the finale. On 89 Minutes Redhill felt worthy of at least a point, on 90 minutes, Aaron Murphy got his goal that
won them a point, but on 91 minutes, a minute into tiem added on, Redhill will feel they could have sneaked all 3.
The spectators were treated to a first half that flowed well, with the officials letting common sense work for a nice change and play being allowed
to continue, which helped for some healthy battles and nice football by both sides. Unfortunately, it didn't last into the second half, but then,
no two halves of football are ever the same.
Redhill threatened the Uckfield goal first after Any Atkin had a shot on goal, however it was way off troubling the 'keeper, and minutes later,
the visitors had an oppurtunity when Jack Divall was only inches away from getting on the end of a low driven cross, with the goal gaping.
Redhill's lively youngster Kaiyne Woolery got fouled on the edge of the box with the home team looking to take advantage of a good position, only
for the shot by Atkin to go directly into the hands of Mark Oldfield.
It was again Uckfield's turn to attack in this dee-saw first half with Tom Swancott striking wide of Chris Mays goal, then Redhill had two further
chances. Leon Dussard went on a great run into the box before crossing into the direction of Gavin Gordon, however he was unable to connect with it,
whilst moments later, Andy Atkin played an excellent ball to John Westcott whose cross was met by the acrobatic effort of Gavin Gordon, however he
was unable to get a sweet contact and it didn't trouble the goalkeeepr.
AFC took the lead on 36 minutes via Greg Manton after soem poor defending by Redhill in a crowded area. A dissapointing goal to concede and AFC
Uckfield in the driving seat and looking to take all 6 points from Redhill this season.
Just before half time, Kaiyne Woolery had a chance go just wide after a superb run.
Early in the first half, Andy Atkin surprised the crowd with a very sweet strike that went just wide. Gavin Gordon's flick on carve out the chance
and Redhill seemed to mean a little more business after coming out from half time.
Ryan Briggs nearly opened his Redhill account with a shot that flew like a dart, heading straight for the bottom corner before being diverted wide
just at the last split second.
Uckfields Richard Greenfield showed off some skill keeping the ball glued to his feet dispite some incoming challenges. His team mates didn't seem
too pleased when he decided to go it alone when there were chances of a cross or pass, but he eventually got a shot in, only for Chris May to deny
him a goal.
The Lobsters then had a succession of chances in a goal mouth scramble. Andy Atkin saw a chance cleared off the line and a further 4 shots were all
blcked, leaving Redhill wondering what they had to do to score. Redhill have only faield to score twice this season and one of those matches was the
3-0 defeat at Uckfield, however, it didn't happen this time.
Substitute Aaron Murphy got on end of a cross by fellow sub' Nial Egan and saw his glancing header sail into the net on the 90th mimute.
Just one minute later, into injury time, Aaron Murphy nearly won all 3 points for his side when he struck an excellent shot, only to see it
brilliantly saved by Mark Oldfield. The game ended just moments later, with Redhill boss Simon Colbran aggrieved with only 1 minute being added on
for stoppages.
