Redhill fell to their 3rd defeat on the trot as the slump continues, but the Reds are confident they can turn it around.
Billy Medlock had been re-called by parent club Eastbourne Borough leaving Redhill without any fit recognized strikers. Aaron Murphy partnered
Wayne Clark in the forward positions.
Straight from Kick off, Murphy fed the ball to Kaiyne Woolery who shot down the left flank, leaving the YM defence for dead brfore seeing his
cross cut out for a corner. Almost the perfect start for Redhill and shortly after, winning their second corner, dominating the opeoning minutes
of the game but as is so common in this game, they were kicked in the teeth when after 4 minutes George Hiller was first to react to the ball
smacking the Redhill post and tucked the ball neatly into the goal to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Redhill seemed unconcerned though and came forward again with Dapo Kayode producing some neat work before passing onto Scott Harris, whose cross
was headed over by Wayne Clark.
YM, however, crushed Redhill hearts on 14 minutes when they made it 2-0. A confusion in the Reds defence saw Dean Wright tap the ball over the
goaline after Dean Ruddy saved the initial shot.
Redhill, still however didn't want to be beaten, Scott Harris struck over with a well prepared effort, Aaron Murphy had a one on one attempt very
well saved by Simon Lockwood. Moments later, Kaiyne Woolery showed great trickery before getting in a shot that flew just wide.
Before the half was out YMCA's Hillier had a bending shot go wide after a good solo effort, and Tom Graves headed just over the bar which the
entire crowd thought was going to ripple the net.
Early in the 1st half, Wayne Clark had a shot that went straight at Lockwood, then in a real mix up in attack, Clark and Harris got in each others
way just yards off the line with the goalkeeper no-where in sight, but the confusion only gave Lockwood time to get back and smother the ball.
Reds sub John Westcott smacked a volley just wide with half an hour left on the clock, then youngster Alex Scott entered the field, replacing
Aaron Murphy and made an impact straight away with his lively attitude. First off he had a volley go wide then did some great work before bending a
shot inches over the bar.
YM then carved out some chances of their own with Tom Graves defending brilliantly by heading the ball over his own bar then Dean Ruddy made a
good save from George Hilliers one on one chance.
Still Redhill wanted something from the game though and Simon Lockwood pulled off a stunning save from Tom Graves point blank shot after Wayne
Clarks effort was deflected into the defenders path.
Redhill got a goal back on 82 minutes when Wayne Clark scored direct from a free kick, the goal of the game, but it was on the wrong end of a 2-1
scoreline.
