Redhill put on one the poorest displays in recent memory in the 1st half of this Surrey Senior Cup 2nd Round match, particularly in the first 15
minutes which saw them concede two goals to give themselves an uphill struggle for theremainder of the 75 minutes.
Jay Taylor gave Lingfield the lead on just 5 minutes with a close range header, andit took only 4 more minutesfor the visitors to double their
lead.
Lingfield had a chance headed off the line, but Jay Taylor was on hand, in the right place at the right time to knock in the rebound to give
Lingfield a sensational lead after only 9 minutes. 2-0 and Redhill had hardly been out of their own half.
It was nearly 3-0 minutes later but Joe Hagen produced a great save low down to his right.
After a Redhill attack involving Wayne Clark that eventuallycame to nothing, Redhill seemed to have more energy about them, Billy Medlock had an
attempt at goal, but unfortunately for Redhill, Lingfieldstillremained thebetter side.with Jay Taylor pouncing on a through ballbut striking wide,
andjust before half time, Lingfield had a shout for goal line technology, when a shot may or may not have gone over the line, obvious shouts from
Lngfield, but no goal was given
At half time, Redhill brought on Kaiyne Woolery and Nial Egan, and certainly for the opening minutesof the second half, Redhill seemed to have so
much more energy about them. Wayne Clarke had a shot got just wide from a good move, but much of second half produced little goal action.
Lingfield made it 3-0 on 66 minutes as Harry simtin dtruck from an absolute shot from nothing, but somehow managed to get in beyong Joe Hagen,
Lingfield Dale Fisher had a strike that hit the bar...The shot was almost on the line after a dangerously close cross, Leon Dussard had a tremendous
effort saved by Rob O' Hara, andin the final minute of the game, Redhill got a consolation after Kaiyne Woolery pounced on an error in the
Lingfield defence to head into an open goal. That was to prove to be the final act of any significance in the game.
