Redhill's best run of the season so far came to a crashing end on Saturday after a poor performance led to newly promoted Lancing winning all 3 points.
In the opening few minutes of the game, there was a scare for Redhill when goalkeeper Chris May received a nudge from a corner kick and appeared to have a problem with his back. Although shaking it off, he went down for treatment several minutes later, but he completed the game without further complaint.
Lancing had the better of the first 15 minutes with chances from Titus Paterson and Shaz Sadough, both efforts missed the target, but Lancing were certainly signalling their intentions to break Redhill's unbeaten run.
The Reds produced a good flowing move involving Eddie Koboah and Andy Atkin before Billy Medlock finally got a shot in that was well saved.
However, Lancing took the lead on 14 minutes when Chris May was caught out of position, although he certainly wasn't helped by his defence and Shaz Sadough was left with a simple tap in into an open goal.

Most the game was played in midfield with not much pressure being put on either penalty area. Andy Atkin had a chance at goal, although it was an easy gather for 'keeper Matt Evans, But Atkin did grab a goal and drew his side level on 25 minutes. Leon Dussard made a superb run down the left flank, passing an army of Lancing players. Dussard made the defence look like statues as he burst down the wing, eventually cutting inside and passing to Atkin who calmly dispatched the ball into the net.
The level scores, however, didn't last long, just two minutes later, Lancing went ahead again. Despite some desperate defending, and some good blocking from Redhill, particularly from Leon Dussard, Darren Boswell struck the ball through a crowd and it found the back of the net.
Again, the game saw midfield battles rather than any attacking play from both sides, although the odd chances were carved out. Eddie Koboah saw a one on one effort with Evans well savedand Leon Dussard struck a wild shot over the bar, whilst at the other end, Chris May saved a Darren Boswell shot as he looked to get his second of the game.

Redhill's second half didn't get off to a great start, ten minutes in and Andy Atkin suffered an injury and had to be replaced by Kaiyne Woolery.
Lancing went 3-1 up on 68 minutes. Shaz Sadough seemed offside as he latched onto a forward pass, although there was nothign controversial about the finish as he clunically passed it beyond Chris May to virtually make sure of the points.

However, there was still time for Redhill, Kaiyne Woolery had an effort go wide and over after he took on a great through ball by Billy Medlock,
Late, Medlock had an effort of his own, from a tight angle, but he hit the crossbar.
Much of the second half followed the pattern of the first, with little goalmouth action. Lancing finished the better side with two late chances, one effort that took a defelction, wrong footing May, but hitting the post, then the Redhill goalkeeper made a great save from a Lancing free kick.

Redhill must now bounce back again and have a tough League Cup tie at Three Bridges on Tuesday 8th November.
