Redhill only came away with point in another game they could have had sewn up in the first forty five minutes. Many know the squad at Kiln Brow is under-acheiving with a sea of talent at Simon Colbrans disposal, he was left silenced after chance after chance was missed and Crowborough came back from a goal down to snatch a point.

Crowborough defence were in overdrive and Redhill must have wondered what was in their pre-match meal as they caught the homeside offside 3 times in the first 10 minutes, and continued to catch the Redhill attack offside on many more occasions throughout the game, and particularly the first half.

Redhill didn’t help themselves either by giving the ball away too often in midfield, forcing the defence backwards each time and the effect was plain to see, a lack of confidence for the first 20 minutes.
However, as the game developed, Redhill did begin to carve out chances. New signing Billy Medlock, on loan from Eastbourne Borough had a header at the back post go wide, then Chamal Fenelon saw one of his efforts brilliantly tipped over the bar by The visiting ‘keeper Ben Head.

John Westcott missed a sitter when it was probably easier to score, then moments later the winger struck wide after he pounced on a clawed clearance by Head.
Wayne Clarke also had a shot go wide after he dazzled the Crowborough defence with an amazing run following Andy Atkin’s pass.
Redhill will rue those chances missed in the 1st half as they were few and far between in the second. ill Medlock shot wide and Any Atkin had a header go across the goal then out of pay.

Tom Graves could have done better when the ball came his way, but to be fair to the defender, it was a half chance and he may not have expected the loose ball to drop his way. However, Graves was to make up for it on 51 minutes when he tapped the ball from a scramble in the box to give Redhill a 1-0 lead.

Crowborough carved out a chance as Sam Saunders hit a nice effort that went through everyone, and Chris May did well to save it as he probably saw it late and he got down well.
Medlock had another chance when through on goal, he shot at the ‘keeper and it was a shame as the lob attempt may have been a better option.
Scott Harris made an excellent tackle on Crowborough’s Tom Saunders inside the box just as he was about to pull the trigger, however the away team equalised on 75 minutes when John Trotter headed in direct from a corner, giving May no chance with the power he gave it, into the center of the goal.

The remaining minutes played out without much incident, with Scott Harris getting a yellow card for a mis times slide tackle and ‘borough’s Sam Saunders striking a free kick directly at Chris May.
Redhill now look to bounce back again on Saturday at home to Hassocks.
