Redhill lost back to back games for the second time this season on Saturday as they travelled to AFC Uckfield and got well and truly beaten by three
goals to nil.
A Redhill spokeman said "It's so dissapointing. We have an excellent squad, who should be doing so much better."
Despite not playing particularly well, Redhill just about edged the first half hour of the game and if only one of the two chances they had in the
first half, it may have been a completely different story.
For the 1st 15 minutes, neother side got into their stride and nothing was being created. Uckfield seemed to be content to booting the ball up field
and letting Redhill come at them, but every time Redhill were in possession, there just didn't seem to be that same desire that saw them go 3rd
in the table at one point and also in all the cup competitions.
One of those few 1st half chances fell to Leon Dussard, who created it himself with some great running with the ball and linking well with Chamal
Fenelon before seeing his shot saved by Tom Betts.
Also before Uckfield took the lead, Tom Graves had a looping header that the 'keeper caught ok and Chamal Fenelon had a shot that went wide.
AFC took the lead on 33 minutes when Andy Mcdowell had the simplest of tap ins from a well delivered cross. The worst thing about the goal was that it
came from a Redhill attack, although Fenelon and Scott Harris got in each others way and thus, Redhill lost possession.
Redhill had a great chance to equalise early in the second half when Gavin Gordon saw his overhead bicycle kick superbly saved by Betts, but on 59
minutes, Lol Edwards doubled the home sides lead when he curled in excellently to beat Chris May.
The Reds then began to mount some pressure with Fenelon, Jon Difford and Aaron Murphy all having chances, and Wayne Clark nearly found a way in
before the Uckfield defence got it away from him at the expense of a corner.
Tom Graves then hit the top of the crossbar with a header, however there were strong shouts from the Reds bench for a hand ball.
AFC finished the scoring on 74 minutes when Chris Gould capatilised on a rebound from a previous shot to slot the ball home and make sure the points
were theirs.
Before the 90 minutes were up, Murphy had two more attempts on goal and Mark Zydonik was shown a red card very late on.
