Redhill crashed out of the FA Carlsberg Vase, beaten in the 2nd qualifying round to Colliers Wood United, the same team and stage that knocked them out of last season competition.
A Redhill spokes person said "We just didn't want it as much as they did. We were really good on Tuesday [against Horsham YMCA], we wanted it and had desire, if we'd played like that night, we would have won, no doubt."
Redhill had the better of the opening exchanges putting pressure on the United defence and took the lead on 10 minutes when Leon Dussard hammered home a Gavin Gordon cross. Dussard has enjoyed his last two games in midfield after finding a home at full back for the last year or so.
Just 2 minutes later, Colliers Wood nearly drew level but Jon Difford saved Mario Embalo's effort off the line.
The visitors had further efforts, with Embalo again denied with a superb shot that Reds 'keeper Joe Hagen tipped over the cross bar.

Redhill thought they got a second when Chamal Fenelon stunned the crowd with a powerful 45 yard free kick that dipped over the United goalkeeper Chris Duffy, but bounced back off the bar.

Colliers Wood Equalised on 37 minutes via Nathen Turner. The Reds defence were at the races and Turner smashed home from close range.
Before the break, Aaron Murphy did good after some great work by Dussard, only for Murphy's shot was deflected.

It took Colliers Wood only 4 minutes in the second half to take the lead when they were awarded a penalty that James Davies put away calmly.

Reds substitute and former United striker Stefan Joseph had two chances to make things level again, both headers, the first was deflected over, the second flew over.

Chamal Fenelon struck another free kick from just outside the area, however the effort was blocked, but he had another chance moments later on 67 minutes from almost the same position.
This time, he hit the ball as sweetly as his first half effort, and it flew into the back of the net, making the score 2-2.

Fenelon had another powerful effort saved one handed, and then he nearly got on the end of a Joseph cross but it was a tad too high.

Mario Embalo broke Redhill hearts on 88 minutes when Joe Hagen failed to save at his feet and the United strike took the ball round him and passed the ball into the net.
