Redhill were knocked out of the FA Cup at the hands of a strong Chipstead side who took their chances well. The game was very stop-start that frustrated both sets of supporters, but particularly Redhill as they never seemed to get the rub of the green.
"Chipstead are a side that will deffinately be above half way in the league season." Manager Simon Colbran said. But Redhill played well and the away side were unlucky to concede 2 of the goals they did. Redhill defender Tom Graves was also present at the game, still out of action with a foot injury said "They were worth 1 goal, and we were well worth one too. One all would have been a fair result".
There was an early scare for the Reds when goalkeeper Robbie Whittaker saved bravely in a crowd but waved away any potential treatment, only to go down minutes later, this time, Reds physio Lorren Woodward spent some time with him.
Redhills Stefan Joseph had a powerful shot that was blocked for a corner, but the games first goal came on 20 minutes when Jason Goodchild put the home side in the lead from the penalty spot. A day after the match took place, we are still none the wiser as to the reason of the spot kick.

Redhill went further behind on 31 minutes after Bruce Hogg smashed home from a softly given free kick. There can be no credit taken away for the strike however, with was hit with real venom that any goalkeeper would struggle to keep out.
"We've got to get it right on Tuesday night now against Horsham (ymca), but it'll be tough down there. They started poorly but have made some improvements to their squad." Said Colbran. "But there's no-one we should be frightened of in this league."
Redhill ended the 1st half the better side with Gavin Gordon going close with a header from a corner kick, and Andrew Dalhouse striking inches over the bar.

Chipstead couldn't have had a better start to the second half scoting within 1 minute of the re-start.Kofi Quarty put the ball in the net with a close range strike almost killing the game off for the Sussex League side.
"When we're on our game, we're a really good side. I don't like excuses, but we have nine players still out at the moment, and most of them will probably start.". Redhill are still without club captain Peter Barkley, Clint Moore, Mark Zydonik, goalkeeper Chris May, Wayne Clarke, Eddie Koboah, Tom Graves and John Westcott, to name just a few. "Fair play to the players that we had today, they did well."
Redhill got a goal back on 56 minutes when the Reds won a penalty for themselves. It was perhaps a little harsh but the ball did strike the hand of a Chipstead defender and Andy Atkin netted home to give Redhill a dim light at the end of the tunnell.
For the last 20 minutes of the game, Redhill came forward and were unlucky not to get at least another goal, Charlie Farmer had the best effort when his shot was aiming to go straight in the top corner, but somehow Rob Webb pulled off a save that would have made any top class 'keeper proud, tipping it over the bar.
Tom Graves said, "I think the 3rd goal killed us. If if had been 2-1 we would have had a good half hour to get at them, but 3-1 was too much.", and Manager Simon Colbran continued. "It's shows how fit we are and how committed we are. We work hard in training, and we never give up."
