Redhill somehow only managed a point out of this game that, despite being very entertaining, was very one-sided in Redhill's favour. However, it
could have been worse for the Surrey side as they had to come back from 2-0 down to get the point. "Everybody said it was an exiting finish, but I
think it was an exciting 90 minutes". Simon Colbran said. Rangers took the lead on 22 minutes via a speculative effort by Kieron Pamment. "When we
went in at half time, I struggled, because we were so good in the 1st half."
Both sides started with a quick pace, but Redhill were unlucky not to take the lead after chances from Andy Atkin, who saw a header brilliantly
saved by Martin O'Rourke following a John Westcott cross in a move that was started by Jon Difford's good passing, and Tom Graves saw the ball
glance off his shin after a Medi Koroma cross.
"They had 2 shots all game, scored them both and I think they had one corner" Said the Reds boss, "I imagine that's the most one sided game I've
been in that I haven't come out the winner."
Redhill continued to dominate in the second half with Wayne Clarke causing problems in the St. Francis defence, Tom Graves having a header go wide
and Gavin Gordon seeing his shot somehow scooped off the line.
The visitors went further ahead on 84 minues when Pamment again, somehow got through the Redhill back four and found himself just with 'keeper
Robbie Whittaker to beat, and he smashed it to one side into the net.
A number of Redhill supporters observed how in previous years, a Redhill team wouldn't have come back and got the point. Colbran said, "We don't know
how to lose. We've got such a winning mentality. We dominated possesion for 95 minutes, you can't ask much more from them."
Redhill came back with a goal just 2 minutes later when Substitute Clint Moore smashed home from close range as he latched onto a John Westcott
headed cross, and then on 89 minutes, Westcott him self grabbed a goal after his first effort hit the post, he was the first to react and earn
his side a point.
Colbran continued, "I was devastated after the game, but then thought about it and there were many more positives from
this game than there were negatives, if we play like that on Saturday, we'll get through the next round." Colbran is referring to the FA Cup
preliminary tie at Sevenoaks town on Saturday 3rd September.
Colbran ended his post match analysis by saying "I just want to underline the commitment of the players. It's getting hard now, People are coming
back and there's players that perhaps might start getting benched. But I play a squad game and will be rotating things. We've got a lot of cup
games coming up and I want everybody to keep going, keep at it and keep together."
