With only 1 FA cup win in 11 years, and 2 wins in over 20, the history books weighed heavily in Wicks favour. The add to the anxiety of the Redhill
half, nearly 10 players were unavailable for selection. But manager Simon Colbran has built a big squad and with added talent from the Redhill
youth side, the scales were starting to even up.
Goalkeeper Robbie Whittaker, with only 4 1st team appearances before Saturday was placed between the sticks as first choice 'keeper Chris May was
one of the unavailable.
The home side were very unlucky not to take an early lead after a defensive / goalkeeper mix up ended with Scott Towers poking the ball goalwards,
but it only found the upright, sighs of relief from the standing still Redhill defence and in particular, 'keeper Robbie Whittaker.
The travelling Redhill fans must have been wondering why their side even enter the FA Cup, still on the back foot for another 5 minutes, but soon
Redhill got into their stride, taking a 1-0 lead on 18 minutes via Clint Moore, after taking on a pass from Wayne Clarke on the left.
The Reds had further chances via Andy Atkin, Gavin Gordon and Wayne Clarke. Atkin was particuarly instrumental in the center of the park.
Clint Moore made it 2-0 on 48 minutes, giving Redhill a real springboard for the second half. Andrew Dalhouse marked his return to Redhill by
replacing Gavin Gordon and Mark Zydonik made his Redhill debut after coming on for Charlie Farmer. Redhill confirmed the win on 71 minutes when
Andy Atkin headed in from a Leo Atkinson corner.
Robbie Whittaker made up for his early error by making a string of well taken saves and swept up a number of threatening Wick through balls.
